The 21st ranked St. John's basketball team defeated Marymount University 71-55 in Washington D.C. Wednesday. The Johnnies led 39-23 at halftime and held off Marymount in the 2nd half.

The Waite Park Police Department are reporting a dumpster fire on December 17th on the 100 block of 2nd Street South. Alicia Mages from Tri County Crime Stoppers indicates there was also a report of a dumpster fire near that area a day earlier.

The 21st ranked St. John's Basketball team defeated Rowan University of New Jersey 91-66 Thursday afternoon in Washington D.C. The Johnnies led 47-25 at halftime and held off Rowan in the 2nd half.

(Cathedral Head Coach Cathy Matuska says Cathedral used a balanced scoring attack and stifling defense to hand the Crush the loss. Katie Pfeiffer had 12 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals for Cathedral. Sophia Sinclair had a double double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Keira Alexander had 12 points, 5 steals and 3 assists and Emily Schaupp added 11 points for the Crusaders).

St. Ben's hired Mike Durbin as their head basketball coach in 1986 and he's still their head coach today. Mike joined me on WJON for our "My Life" series.

Both St. Cloud and Sartell are hosting high school hockey tournaments this week. The Granite City Showcase boys hockey event starts Thursday at the Municipal Athletic Complex December 26 and continues through December 28. Sartell is hosting a girls hockey holiday tournament at Bernicks Arena Thursday-Saturday.
