It was really hard for me at the time. It was the best thing I have ever done in my life. I never saw myself leaving Washington State. I loved where I grew up. I loved being close to my parents, but I had this music dream that I knew wouldn't happen there. So, I moved to Nashville, which at the time, I felt like I had moved to New York City. It was so big. I grew up in a town of about 900 people. So, Nashville felt like this massive city, which it wasn't at the time, but it was all different to me. I mean, I went from calling them freeways to interstates, but once I got over the homesick part of it, I really loved Nashville. It was so good for me because I did something that I didn't think I could do in leaving home, and now I feel like I could do anything, and it really is because of that one decision.
