Not really. It comes naturally to me, and I really enjoy it. I think it's kind of what keeps me fresh and inspired, being able to do the different projects. It keeps me from getting stagnated with anyone. Of course, Gov't Mule is the top priority, but Gov't Mule works part of the year and takes part of the year off, so I have room to do other things as well.

I first saw Stand By Me nearly 40 years ago at the Mounds Mall Cineplex with a gaggle of my Anderson University dormmates, and within 30 minutes in, we all knew we were watching something special.

It was really hard for me at the time. It was the best thing I have ever done in my life. I never saw myself leaving Washington State. I loved where I grew up. I loved being close to my parents, but I had this music dream that I knew wouldn't happen there. So, I moved to Nashville, which at the time, I felt like I had moved to New York City. It was so big. I grew up in a town of about 900 people. So, Nashville felt like this massive city, which it wasn't at the time, but it was all different to me. I mean, I went from calling them freeways to interstates, but once I got over the homesick part of it, I really loved Nashville. It was so good for me because I did something that I didn't think I could do in leaving home, and now I feel like I could do anything, and it really is because of that one decision.

"You're going to the same concert three nights in a row?" is what a normal person would ask. No, it's not the same concert, and a normal person wouldn't understand anyway. Phish has dominated Noblesville 35 times to date, coming around every other year or so this decade. Some are saying this is their best run to date at Ruoff Music Center, or "Deer Creek," as it is known by many. I would find this hard to disagree with.
