The verdict: GMC redesigned its Acadia three-row SUV for the 2024 model year with more room and a new powertrain lineup. For this Car Seat Check, we tested the top Denali trim with seats for seven and found a lot to like about its second row, but we struggled with the third row’s fixed head restraints.

The verdict: Lincoln updated its Aviator three-row SUV for the 2025 model year, giving it a fresh face outside and a new multimedia system inside. In our Car Seat Check, the Aviator’s second row earned top grades, but we struggled with the third row’s fixed head restraints.

Infiniti’s QX60 was last redesigned for 2022, propping up the three-row SUV’s luxury intentions with a more premium-looking exterior and classier cabin as well as more modern controls. That modernity didn’t translate under the hood, however; although the automatic transmission was new, the same adequate 3.5-liter V-6 engine still powered the QX60 … until 2025.

In 2023, luxury electric-vehicle maker Lucid announced it’s adopting Tesla’s Supercharger standard and hardware, and at the end of 2024, it began delivering the first non-Tesla vehicle to come equipped with Tesla’s North American Charging Standard charge port straight from the factory: the 2025 Lucid Gravity. (Hyundai also just released its 2025 Ioniq 5 with a factory NACS port, so it might be a tie.) Starting Friday, the Gravity will have access to Tesla’s vast Supercharger network. Lucid also released more details about the new SUV’s range and charging abilities.

The verdict: The Mini Countryman is the brand’s largest vehicle and although it was updated for 2025 with more cabin space, its backseat is still tiny when it comes to accommodating some car seats. While we appreciated the Countryman’s easy-access Latch anchors, our rear-facing car seats needed more room. For this Car Seat Check, we tested the sport-oriented John Cooper Works edition.
