John E. Davis, DVM, 69, passed away peacefully at his home in Cazenovia on Oct. 25, 2024. A graduate of Skaneateles High School, he studied at Cornell University and the University of Perugia in Italy and completed internships in Guelph, Canada, and Utah before earning a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts.

My reasons for running are two-fold: my unique professional and personal experiences. As a child of divorce, growing up, I experienced the heartache that comes with family centered issues. Fast-forward, years later, and my parents are very good friends. Naturally, in law school, I was drawn to this area of law- I participated in the family law clinic, took every family law related class, and I graduated with a Certificate of Specialization in Family Law and Social Policy.

Sandra E. (Truax) Keese, 78, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Oct. 20, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born and raised in Fulton, the daughter of Florence (England) and Edward Truax, Sandy graduated from Fulton High School and Oswego School of Practical Nursing, class of 1965.

Sharon Mosher (Pratt), Vineland, Ontario, Canada, passed away peacefully on Aug. 17, 2024 due to progressive Parkinson Disease.

Barbara J. Johnsen, 91, of Cazenovia, passed away Nov. 3, 2024. She was born Feb. 21, 1933 in Fort Madison, Iowa to Lloyd and Genevieve Peter Parrish, and was raised in Lakeland, FL. After graduating from Florida Southern College, she attended Boston University, where she earned her master’s degree in education. Following graduation, Barbara traveled to California to accept a job teaching high school English and Social Studies in Huntington Beach. She soon met the love of her life, Jim Johnsen, and was married two months later. They moved to Cazenovia in 1979, where Barbara resided at her beloved home at the time of her death.

Speaking at an election watch party on Tuesday night, Republican Jim Walsh said there's an opportunity for the Governor Elect to demonstrate he can work across the political divide.

Helen E. Fikes Chapman, 100, of Elbridge, passed away peacefully on Nov. 8, 2024. Helen was born Sept. 20,1924, in Memphis, N.Y. She was the youngest daughter of Oliver and Mina Hewitt Fikes.

Richard Loy Peer, 96, passed away Nov. 1, 2024, after complications from a stroke.

Helen Cunney, formerly of Cazenovia, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Nov. 9, 2024. Helen was born in Brooklyn on October 28, 1940, she was the daughter of John Dunn and Helen Byrne Dunn.
