That quote has been often attributed to Mark Twain, & it's in new cool book, "The Mark Twain Book of Quotes; A Collection of Speeches, Quotations, & Essays from America's Great Humorist," edited by Travis Hellstrom. Twain wrote in his personal notebooks back in 1898, "Heaven goes by favor. If it went by merit, you would stay out & your dog would go in." There's a million of them in this book that will have you kicking the slats out of your cradle. In fact, Mark Twain, was probably LOL way, way ahead of his time. Martial Arts is what's it's about, & this afternoon (Thurs) at 2:30, Jeremy Brown, will be joining me on the Puff Man Show, from Montana Warriors Martial Arts! On Monday, Memorial Day, we come together to remember & honor the sacrifices of those who have given their lives for our country. Here in Shelby, Veterans Memorial Day services will be held at Valley View Cemetery, at 10, in the morning. The Veterans Memorial Flag service is set for 10:30. Mountain View Cemetery will conduct their Memorial Day services at 11, while the service at the Heritage Center is scheduled for 11:30 Memorial Day morning. We express our heartfelt gratitude to our fallen heroes & the families they have left behind. Let's all take a moment to remember their sacrifice & honor their service...

FAST Blackfeet, will be hosting a gardening workshop for youth this Thursday, in Browning. The gardening workshop will be up & running on Thursday afternoon from 4:30 to 6, at the Methodist Church in Browning. Don't worry about a thing, more information & registration's available on the FAST Blackfeet FB page. Gardening is what it's all about. "They" say, "eat close to the ground." In other words, prioritizing fresh, locally sourced, farm-to-table dining or enjoying a picnic outdoors. I submit, you reap what you sow. The blood drive will be at the Conrad Mission Church, & the Red Cross, will be on hand for your donation of the Gift of Life, between 11 & 5:15, next Thursday afternoon. It's always a blast to flash back & listen to Michael Martin Murphy's 1975 hit tune, Wildfire. That song's about a mystical, ghost horse, but the real wildfire is something very real under our Montana Big Sky. There'll be a Public Information Session, NEXT Wednesday evening, June 10th, pertaining to the development of Toole County's Community Wildfire Protection Plan, from 5:30 to 7, at our Shelby Fire Station.
