Syracuse closed out a fruitless trip to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, dropping the third place game in the Legends Classic to Texas Tech, 79-74. The Orange (3-2) were game early, but struggled on offense after halftime, making only seven shots from the field in the half before the final 30 seconds of play. The Red Raiders (5-1) kept SU in the game by repeatedly sending them to the foul line, but an 11-2 run gave them enough breathing room to withstand the foul shot barrage.

Syracuse lost its second in a row, dropping a 79-74 decision to Texas Tech on Friday evening at the Barclay's Center.

Kyle McCord threw for 470 yards and accounted for three scores, but the Orange had to recover an onside kick to win.

Syracuse is in search of its ninth win of the season against Miami.

Syracuse rallied from 21 points down to top No. 6 Miami to finish the regular season.

Syracuse was routed in the ACC-SEC Challenge on Tuesday evening.

The Orange missed all nine of their 3-point attempts while the Irish had eight triples in the game.

The Orange coasted to the win behind a balanced offensive attack that shot 63.5 percent from the field.

It's a rivalry renewed as Syracuse (5-4) hosts Georgetown (7-2) for the 100th meeting between the two schools.
