Operation Breast Density in Auburn Hills is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to breast cancer and breast density education. The group has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help women with dense breasts afford the extra level of screening needed to properly check for a potential cancer diagnosis. The campaign is part of the group’s mission and is seeking to provide 100 women at high risk for breast cancer with free Whole Breast Ultrasounds and/or Rapid/Fast MRI screenings. The goal is to raise $50,000 by June 30 to start the screenings.

National Kidney Foundation of Michigan in Ann Arbor (NKFM) named Monique Lee to the newly created position of director of employee experience.

The Detroit United Lacrosse Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit citywide youth organization dedicated to developing the character and integrity of student athletes who will serve as positive members of the community. Detroit United Lacrosse works directly with youth from Detroit and surrounding neighborhoods to provide high-level lacrosse training, wellness education, and educational opportunities. The group uses the lacrosse athlete development model and principles of the Positive Coaching Alliance.

The Detroit Historical Society hosted the 2024 Salute to the Legends VIP Ball on Saturday, May 11, at the Detroit Historical Museum in Midtown Detroit. The event was co-chaired by Margery Krevsky-Dosey, Leslye Rosenbaum, Linda Schlesinger-Wagner, and Lois Shaevsky. This year’s honorees were Greg Kelser, sports broadcaster and former MSU and Pistons player; Huel Perkins, former Detroit television anchor; and Mickey Redmond, former NHL player and current Red Wings announcer. In addition, the Kresge Foundation was given the 2024 Moving Forward award.
