MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The Tug Valley Panthers are eight games into their Class A state title defense and early returns are promising that the crew from Naugatuck can travel up Route 119 North to Charleston in mid-March once again. Tug Valley is off to a 6-2 start. The record includes a pair of last-second losses and an impressive win over Williamstown in the Willie Akers Classic. Veteran head coach Garland Thompson says his team is making strides a month into the season.
