Last Saturday, Dec. 9, the Marshfield Police Department partnered with the Webster County Children's Division, and the Marshfield Walmart SuperCenter held its annual Shop with a Cop. This program was established in 1994 and is a yearly event sponsored by local law enforcement agencies that aims to provide children with a happier holiday season and encourage positive relationships with police.

Timothy Webster is scheduled for an arraignment with Judge Replogle presiding on Monday, Dec. 18. Webster, a Seymour resident, has been charged with three Class D felonies of Forgery following an investigation.

In late October 2023, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services began investigating the cause of lead poisoning in four children who had high amounts of lead in their blood systems.
