Pepper Grinder feels like multiple types of madness all sloshed together in a great big platforming-shaped tankard and, well, I’m absolutely here for it. Shipwrecked on a mysterious island and having had all of her shiny goodies stolen by a group of absolutely evil Narlings, our heroine Pepper must rev up her drill and carve a path of vengeance through basically everyone standing between her treasure and exercising an outsized amount of revenge on those who inconvenienced her in the first place.

With Hunt: Showdown releasing on PS4 all the way back in February 2020, Crytek’s genre defining, PvPvE extraction shooter has been re-released on current generation consoles as Hunt: Showdown 1896, a newly revamped and reinvigorated version of the game that looks to expand its player base in earnest. With an all-new engine purring under the hood, a new map, new monsters, a reworked UI and so much more besides, we spoke to Crytek about Hunt: Showdown 1896 and the sort of improvements we can expect to see over the now discontinued PS4 version.

With online multiplayer first-person extraction shooters seemingly now ten-a-penny, it can perhaps be all too easy to forget that the genre arguably hit its peak with 2020’s Hunt: Showdown, a fantastic genre entry which combined traditional survival horror beats with superb level design, cutting edge sound engineering and the sort of risk/reward systems that made every game feel utterly unique.

Finally proving the active rumour mill right, 2K Games and Gearbox Software announced Borderlands 4 and confirmed that it will release for PS5 sometime in 2025

After the previous reveal that Civilization 7 was an actual thing, 2K Games and Firaxis have followed up with a gameplay teaser trailer which shows off the first gameplay from Civilization 7 ahead of its PS4 and PS5 release sometime in 2025.

In the run up to writing this review for Concord, the love that developer Firewalk Studios has for its debut effort under the PlayStation Studios banner has been clearly on display and deeply encouraging. From the recent news that the team is going to be supporting Concord for the long haul, through to the touching, welcoming message which appears declaring their passion and love for the game when you boot it up for the very first time, the affection that Firewalk Studios has for Concord is warmly abundant to the point that you actively want to root for Concord’s success.
