For the first time since 1980, the Irmo Yellow Jackets boys basketball team will be coached by someone other than Tim Whipple. The Irmo legend retired following the 2023-2024 season after a 43-year career. Whipple built the Yellow Jackets’ program into one of the best in the state, winning 848 games and six state championships.

The 2023-2024 A.C. Flora girls basketball season was the best in program history. The Falcons made it to the 4A state championship game for the first time in program history before coming up short against Riverside.
