SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Happy Friday, ArkLaTex! We have a very hot weekend on the way, followed by a potential tropical system sending in rain for a few days next week.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A surge of tropical air will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms to the ArkLaTex today. After pushing 100 degrees over the weekend, the increase in rain and clouds will hold highs in the 80s in most areas this afternoon.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – We are stuck between dry air to our west, and tropical rains to our east. This means we'll be mostly cloudy in the ArkLaTex, with occasional showers or thunderstorms for the next day or two. The rain will dry up in a few days, bringing very hot weather late this week and into the weekend.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – We have a slight chance of rain showers this morning on this final day of Spring. Summer officially begins tomorrow, and right on time we will have a very hot and humid weather pattern through the weekend.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – It wouldn't be summer in the ArkLaTex without an entire week of heat advisories, and that may be what's in store through next weekend. The only relief is the remote chance of a few cooling showers and thunderstorms.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – It will be another day in the sauna with high heat and humidity keeping our heat advisory in effect through this evening. It will be difficult to find any rain today, but thunderstorms will return on Wednesday.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – It will be another hot and humid day in the ArkLatTex with a heat advisory in effect until 7 p.m. Scattered thunderstorms will return by the afternoon and evening with a few severe storms capable of damaging wind gusts.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – We don't have a heat advisory today, but it will remain hot and humid with highs in the 90s this afternoon. Only a few showers and storms in today's forecast, and we'll dry out heading into the weekend sending us on another run of daily highs near 100 degrees.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Welcome to July, usually a quiet weather time of the year but there is a lot to know about this week. The pesky heat advisories will likely be around throughout the week. We have a dry and hot 4th of July in the forecast, perhaps some heat relief by the weekend, and we will be keeping a close eye on Hurricane Beryle which is likely to move into the Gulf Of Mexico late this week.
