Jeffrey Thomas Parks, 41, pleaded not guilty to third-degree assault, a Class D felony; fourth-degree assault, a Class A misdemeanor; interfering with a first responder, a Class B misdemeanor; and resisting arrest, a Class A misdemeanor, following a preliminary hearing on June 30 in Versailles. He was bound over to Morgan County Circuit Court, where he will face a jury trial in April of next year.

Incumbent Presiding Commissioner Jerimiah Johnmeyer was elected to a third term, defeating GOP challenger Jared Wies 1,067 (67.45%) to 515 (32.55%). Stacie McCutcheon won the GOP nomination for Howard County Treasurer, defeating Michelle Johnmeyer 1,118 (71.71%) to 441 (28.29%). She will face Independent candidate Sarah Thompson in the General Election on Nov. 3.
