Rumble on the River Barrel Racing is set for this Sunday, September 29th, at the Mobridge Rodeo Grounds. Darrell Schlepp from the Mobridge Rodeo Association said the idea for a barrel race came up as the organization was looking for a way to end the season this year.

The Walworth County Commission held a regular meeting on Thursday, November 7th.

The Mobridge City Council approved several change orders on the water treatment plant rehabilitation projects at their regular meeting Wednesday night (November 13th). Jerod Klabunde of Moore Engineering was present at the meeting to explain the need for all the changes in the project; one of them being moving the completion date of the project from September 2025 to March 2026, due to unexpected equipment delays. They also approved City Administration and the Waste Water Superintendent to be able to authorize change orders between meetings for any ongoing project. Finance Officer and City Administrator Heather Beck read the motion made by Councilperson Jade Mound.

At Tuesday’s meeting of the Walworth County Commission, the commissioners first convened as the Planning and Zoning Board to discuss the plats of the Grahn First Addition and the Moon Second Addition, which were later approved as the Board of Commissioners.

At Wednesday’s (December 11th) meeting of the Mobridge City Council, Mike Stangl was present to appeal a decision by the Mobridge Planning and Zoning Commission to deny his request for a conditional use permit for a private recreation area on his property on 7th Avenue East, allowing Stangl and his brother to park their campers there, except in the winter. Stangl’s intention is to build a cabin on the property when finances allow. For clarification, City Finance Officer Heather Beck read a motion made by Councilman Kyle Jensen to allow the permit.
