One of the main reasons why the parent of a newborn or toddler can feel like a marathon is, very simply, because of sleep issues. You despair how you will survive those nights with a restless baby. Those first couple of months when you bring home a newborn are full of firsts, particularly in terms of how you learn to deal with the lack of sleep.
