DIXON — A warrant was issued and an additional felony charge was filed against a Dixon man accused of cutting a woman and stabbing her dog.

A change-of-plea hearing for a 22-year-old Dixon man charged in the deaths of two Dixon 14-year-olds, which was scheduled to take place Tuesday, did not go off as planned because of some procedural issues.

The traffic charges against the teen driver of a pickup truck that investigators said failed to stop at an intersection on March 28, resulting in the deaths of his three teen passengers, have been dismissed for now.

A former Savanna woman, who pleaded guilty March 1 to harassing a Black witness accusing her of hate crimes, is scheduled to be sentenced Friday, April 26, after losing a bid to withdraw her guilty plea and proceed to a jury trial.

ROCK FALLS – The driver of a semitractor-trailer charged with improper passing in the death of a tractor driver is scheduled to appear in Whiteside County traffic court in Sterling on May 13.

A 54-year-old Sterling woman is charged in Whiteside County court with financial exploitation of an elderly person and theft, which are punishable by four to 15 and three to seven years in prison, plus restitution, respectively.
