Between 7 October 2023 and 7 January 2026, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reported over 71 000 deaths and 171 000 injuries.1 Limited food distribution by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) began on 27 May 2025.2 3 Famine was declared in August 2025.4 Reports of highly lethal crowd control at distribution sites were corroborated by critically injured patients presenting to local hospitals.4 Satellite imagery analysis of GHF sites concluded that the compounds were designed to maximise the vulnerability of civilians seeking food aid.5 Nasser Medical Complex (NMC) in Khan Younis was the hospital in closest proximity to three of the GHF’s four sites and to the Moraj Corridor food distribution hub north of Rafah and received injured patients from the area surrounding these sites.We report a descriptive observational study based on a convenience sample of all patients seen with GHF-related injuries by physicians on humanitarian missions during active hostilities (28 July–2 August and 2–25 September 2025).
