Approximately 300 people came to Sandstone Park for the annual Lyons Pride Festival. They enjoyed the two Live Bands: Violet Wild and Transromantics, who performed throughout the afternoon. Speakers included Lyons Mayor Mark Browning, Paula Stone Williams, former Lyons Mayor Pro Tem, and three of Lyons Pride teen organizers.

It was another sunny day in June, on the Lyons Redstone Museum front lawn, for their annual History Day to take place. Prominent speakers gave detailed reports, representing Arts & History & School. While the Lyons Recorder has covered all these subjects in detail this year, it was a great opportunity for the public to meet these leaders, face to face, and ask them their personal questions about things like… whether their house would qualify as “historic,” or why will the Arts Commission be dissolved?
