MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Shelby County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) is investigating it's own warrant system after FOX13 reported on a man sent to jail for five months for a series of rapes he did not commit.

Attorney Allan Wade cited staffing and budget constraints. He wrote, in part, the budget passed by the County Commission “does not include any funding for additional personnel and resources that would be needed to transport youth from the Youth Center to 616 Adams Avenue.”

For the first time, the nine individuals appointed to the MATA board stood before the Memphis city council.

Two Mid-South Sheriff’s departments said they’re investigating the arrest of a murder suspect after a chase that spanned four counties.

SHELBY COUNTY SUED - Filed in June 2024, the lawsuit calls the Minority- and Women-Owned Business program the county has “unlawful and unconstitutional.”

“It's more traumatizing than anything, because the gunshots were never ending,” she told FOX13 via a Zoom call.
