With the coming of spring, we are reminded of what makes the Santa Clarita community exceptional: picturesque trails and open space, thoughtfully planned infrastructure and residents who value active, healthy lifestyles.

Over the past six months, city staff has worked diligently to develop a proposed Fiscal Year 2026-27 budget that reflects the priorities of the City Council while continuing to deliver the high level of service our residents expect.

Summer is a time for discovery, connection and making memories and our Community Centers are ready to welcome residents of all ages with engaging programs throughout the season.

Over the past several months, our Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station has seen a concerning trend on our roadways: an increase in road rage incidents that go far beyond momentary frustration.

From live music under the stars and cultural celebrations to outdoor movies, family traditions and community events, there will be something happening in every corner of the city throughout the summer months.

As temperatures rise throughout the summer months, so does the importance of wildfire preparedness and fire safety awareness. In recent years, we have seen that wildfire dangers are no longer limited to a single season, making year-round preparedness increasingly important for our community. By taking proactive steps and staying informed, residents can help reduce fire risks and better prepare their families, homes and neighborhoods for emergencies.

For 36 years, Santa Clarita’s Concerts in the Park series, presented by Logix Federal Credit Union, has been a defining part of summer in our community.

With summer in full swing and our younger residents enjoying more free time outdoors, it is important that we have an honest conversation about e-bike safety and the growing concerns we are seeing in our community.
