THURSDAY: Light snow moves in this morning and continues into the early afternoon, mostly over the Palmer Divide and southern I-25 corridor where 2-4″ of snow is possible. Winds quickly increase up to 55 mph, especially for the Palmer Divide, creating near-blizzard conditions for a few hours. Temperatures remain cool, in the 20s and lower 30s.
Light to moderate snow and breezy winds up to 40-50 mph are impacting parts of southern Colorado this morning. The main impacts are over the Palmer Divide, where 1-3″ of snowfall is expected. Snow and wind can cause white-out conditions for a brief period of time, making for very dangerous driving conditions. Snow will also impact the southern I-25 corridor later this morning, but thanks to the dry, northerly winds, Colorado Springs and Pueblo should remain mostly dry.
