The largest U.S. Coca-Cola bottler announced the retirement of its chief financial officer and his successor. Scott Anthony will retire effective March 31. He joined Charlotte-based Coca-Cola Consolidated in December 2018 as CFO and executive vice president. Coca-Cola Consolidated will used Anthony as a consultant after his retirement to assist with the transition of his responsibilities.

Raleigh design and engineering firm McAdams made its second acquisition in two months. It acquired offices in Asheville and Greenville, South Carolina, from TPD, formerly known as Traffic Planning and Design. This marks the first office in South Carolina for McAdams.

Few Gaston County restaurants have a more loyal customer base than Kyle Fletcher’s Barbeque and Catering in Lowell. Kyle Fletcher, who started the restaurant about 25 years ago with his brother-in-law Steve Deaton, died Thursday night of respiratory and cardiac issues at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.

Honeywell’s 23-story headquarters in Charlotte’s uptown isn’t the only thing high in the sky. So are the average wages paid to the hundreds of Honeywell employees working in the uptown building, according to a state report released Tuesday.

German-based Groninger will invest $15.1 million to expand its Charlotte operations and create 60 new jobs in the Steele Creek area. The expansion will increase its workforce 112 to 172 full-time workers over the next five years.

A glass fabricator in Rockingham County will move its operations about 11 miles north into Virginia resulting in the loss of about 68 North Carolina jobs. However, some of those Press Glass workers may find work with the company’s expanded operations in nearby Ridgeway, Virginia, according to the company.

Dublin-based power management company Eaton will close a Charlotte facility by Aug. 29, resulting in the loss of 76 jobs, according to a mass layoff notice filed with the Department of Commerce this week.

Charlotte-based Duke Energy is participating with other utilities and nuclear companies to apply for an $800 million U.S. Department of Energy grant to build the nation’s first small modular reactor in the eastern Tennessee town of Oak Ridge, about 25 miles west of Knoxville.

Wake County homebuilder Garman Homes has promoted Rebecca McAdoo to the role of chief executive officer and Jake Kaplan to chief financial officer.

Cabarrus County Commissioners voted 3-1 Tuesday night to fire both longtime County Manager Mike Downs and County Attorney Richard Koch. By Wednesday afternoon, county website pages related to both men had been taken down.
