QUAD CITIES, IA/Ill. (KWQC) -- Skies will gradually clear up for the first Monday of 2025 leading to what will be the warmest day until Friday. Highs today will reach the mid 20s with blustery north winds keeping wind chills to the teens and single digits. The weather pattern will quiet down for most of the work week, thus with arctic air settling in highs will run below normal with afternoon highs in the low 20s and overnight lows in the single digits. The next storm system of note arrives Friday. At this time, it looks like flurries are the most likely outcome.

QUAD CITIES, IA/Ill. (KWQC) ---We are off to another cold start but winds are much lighter leading to what feels like a warmer morning in the QCA. Today will be the start of warming trend that lasts through Friday. While there is no major winter storm heading our way, there will be major changes. Saturday will bring our next round of arctic air and First Alert Days are in place for Sunday into next week as wind chills and air temps will dip below zero. Bundle up!
QUAD CITIES, IA/Ill. (KWQC) -- We are on the way up in terms of temperatures the next couple of days. Get out and enjoy it the best you can as the next wave of arctic air arrives this weekend. Today we will hit the mid 30s. Tonight winds will turn to the south allowing for even warmer air to arrive on Friday as highs are expected to be near 40º. Friday night into Saturday we start to cool down. Highs will be in the 20s on Saturday and only the teens on Sunday. Wind chills will drop below -20º by Monday morning leading to First Alert Days Sunday through Tuesday.

QUAD CITIES, IA/IL (KWQC) -- Windy and warm conditions will be seen across our area today. Highs will push 50º and winds may gust close to 45 mph this afternoon. The mild stretch of weather will continue for most of this week meaning our primary storm system will likely bring us mainly rainfall. However, there will be snow on the backside of the system as we get into early Friday. Plenty of things, like track, strength, and timing, still need to be determined. Thus, First Alert Days are in effect late Thursday and into Friday morning. The weekend will still be warm, just not quite as warm as where we are to start the week.
