QUAD CITIES, IA./Ill. (KWQC) - Showers and storms will slowly weaken over the area this morning before the cold front slowly sweeps through the area. Winds will shift to the NW by mid morning and highs today will only reach the 70s and 80s. Spotty showers may linger behind the front until the early afternoon, but rainfall amounts will be minimal. Skies will clear late tonight and cooler and less humid conditions will settle in for Labor Day weekend. Highs will generally be in the 70s and 80s this weekend with overnight lows in the 50s.
QUAD CITIES, IA./Ill. (KWQC) -- Wonderful early fall weather continues again today. After a crisp start in the 40s and 50s SW winds will return today helping highs get back to normal near 80º. Slightly warmer temps are on tap through the middle of the week in the 80s ahead of an approaching cold front. At this time this front will bring a few storms late Thursday night, while severe weather isn’t expected this front will bring another taste of fall. Highs will be in the 60s and 70s Friday and through the weekend along with overnight lows in the 40s and 50s.
QUAD CITIES, IA./Ill. (KWQC) -- Today will be the warmest day of the week with highs in the mid 80s ahead of a strong cold front. This front will bring showers and a few rumbles of thunder late this afternoon and evening to the area. While severe weather is not expected with the strong front, don’t be surprised if a few storms produce gusty winds. Overnight NW winds will arrive and temps will tumble. Afternoon highs on Friday will only hit the 60s and 70s. A stray shower can’t be ruled out thanks to NW winds, but coverage will be quite sparse. Fall like temps take hold for the weekend with highs in the 60s and 70s and overnight lows in the 40s and 50s.
Highs will approach 90º again by the middle of the week.
QUAD CITIES, IA./Ill. (KWQC) -- A gradual warm up will continue today under sunny skies. Highs will reach the mid 80s this afternoon, but humidity will remain at a comfortable level. The warming trend will continue Wednesday and Thursday with highs near 90º each day. While clouds will be more numerous Friday and the weekend, we will remain rain free with highs in the mid 80s.
QUAD CITIES, IA./Ill. (KWQC) -- Rinse and repeat again today for the QCA. We will have plenty of sunshine and highs in the mid 80s. Clouds will start to increase tonight as the remnants of Hurricane Francine moves northward into the QCA. This will lead to cloudy skies on Friday and cooler temps in the mid to upper 70s. A lot of the moisture associated with Francine will dry up, so only a few spotty showers are possible on Friday. Skies will slowly clear by Saturday afternoon leading to highs in the low 80s. Long range forecasts are looking quiet and mild with highs near 80º and sunny most days next week.
Warmer temps will continue into next week.
QUAD CITIES, IA./Ill. (KWQC) -- The last week of summer is here and it is going to feel like it! Look for highs near 90º again today and each day the rest of the work week. While there will be some clouds around most days will be sunny with comfortable humidity. By the weekend there are mixed signals amongst models so for now we can expect mid 80s with a minor rain chances, but drier and warmer conditions may prevail.
QUAD CITIES, IA./Ill. (KWQC) -- Our weather pattern will finally break down allowing for showers and a few storms over the next 72 hours. Today clouds will be on the increase, but all the rain associated with the clouds will dissipate before it reaches our area leading to highs in the mid 80s again. Overnight showers and storms will roll through the area before exiting prior to sunrise. Friday will bring highs in the mid 80s ahead of a cool down for the weekend. Saturday is trending drier and Sunday wetter. While showers will be around it does not appear to be a washout. Temps will only be in the 70s by early next week.
