I forget that it’s pretty much Halloween season now, even with the deluge of horror projects in my inbox at times. Otherwise, I’ve always been and will be a keen supporter of actress Maria Tran (Tracer, “Last King Of The Cross”) who is just off the official launch of the Echo 8 trilogy project amid a series of workshops aimed bolstering local Australian indie film creatives.

A first look still is out for writer/director Dara Van Dusen’s survival flick, A Prayer For The Dying. Production is currently underway on the film outside of Bratislava, Slovakia, with a cast led by actors Johnny Flynn and Academy Award and Golden Globe nominated John C. Reilly.

Fans may remember actor James Earl Jones from any number of the near-200 credits he shares in film and television as one of the most celebrated and EGOT-Winning thespians of the last century. At long last though, an official trailer has been revealed to the public as theatrical release chain CGV Cinemas sets a Vietnamese release on October 11.

Academy Award-winning actor Russell Crowe (Gladiator, A Beautiful Mind, Cinderella Man, Land Of Bad) is teaming up with lead actor Daniel MacPherson (Land of Bad, Foundation, Infini), martial arts mega brand ONE Championship (ONE) for MMA action drama production, The Beast In Me. Broken Open Pictures will commence filming later this year in Bangkok, Thailand.

Before Dawn is a new WWI epic drama, directed by Jordon Prince-Wright who co-wrote the script with Jarrad Russell. The film stars Levi Miller as Jim Collins, the son of an outback sheep farmer who decides against the wishes of his father to join the ANZAC Corps in the fight against the Nazis in France.

The official trailer is out for Hideki Takeuchi’s long-awaited adaptation of the hit manga and anime, Cells At Work. Best of all apart from the featuring of Mei Nagano and Takeru Satoh is the inclusion of other key characters, and now with actors Abe Sadawo and Mina Ashida adding the appropos human element to the stakes.
