Bixby Public Schools will not be changing its curriculum to accommodate a memorandum demanding Oklahoma public schools incorporate the Bible.

Students in grades 10-12 will be allowed to use their phones only during noninstructional time while on campus.

Almost a month after ordering Oklahoma public schools to incorporate the Bible in their classes, state Superintendent Ryan Walters has issued additional details as to what that is expected to look like.

“Skiatook Public Schools takes a neutral stance in regard to the expression of religion and will continue to seek guidance from the Oklahoma State Department of Education,” the district said.

Officials from both Owasso and Collinsville school districts said that while they are still reviewing the guidelines, they will continue to use their previously approved curricula.
