SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Temperatures will remain in the 50s overnight, making it feel much warmer than the past two mornings. As the day and week progresses, we will continue to see an uptick in the air temperatures. High temperatures will hang out in the 70s and possibly reaching 80 by the weekend. Lows begin in the mid 50s and rise to the 60s by mid week. Overall we are looking at a pleasant Christmas week with a mixture of sunshine and clouds. Some moisture returns later in the week, giving way to a small chance of rain late Christmas day and into Thursday.

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - The Suncoast is receiving much needed rain today courtesy of an arriving cold front. The models have reduced the forecasted precipitation between a tenth of an inch, to about three quarters of an inch. Sunday will be mostly cloudy with a high opportunity for lightning. Overall, this is a weak cold front in the sense that temperatures will not plummet behind it. However, the work week will feel a bit cooler with highs in the 70s instead of 80s. With dew points and temperatures going neck and neck, the Suncoast will likely see fog in the late evening and early morning hours at the beginning of the week.
