The San Francisco 49ers are down several of their top playmakers headed into their first divisional game of the year. Over the course of the last week, the red and gold placed running back Christian McCaffrey, who was placed on the Injured Reserve list, sidelined "wideback" Deebo Samuel Sr.

The San Francisco 49ers dropped their first NFC West matchup of the year, falling 27-14 to the Los Angeles Rams on the road. With the loss, the 49ers head into Week 4 with a 1-2 record and will host the New England Patriots at Levi's® Stadium next weekend.

The San Francisco 49ers continue to battle through injuries in Week 4 with a couple additional players earning injury designations headed into the weekend. Left tackle Trent Williams (toe) and safety Talanoa Hufanga (ankle) are the newest names on the injury report after sitting out of Friday's workout.

The San Francisco 49ers offense is set to welcome back two of its biggest offensive playmakers in wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. and tight end George Kittle. Kittle was given the green light to suit up on Friday after completing three-straight days of practice while Samuel Sr. returned to practice on Thursday in a limited capacity. Initially, Samuel Sr. was expected to be sidelined for a couple weeks with the calf strain he sustained against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2, but he will complete the comeback ahead of schedule.

The San Francisco 49ers are 2-0 at home in 2024 after their 30-13 victory over the New England Patriots on Sunday afternoon. The team welcomed back tight end George Kittle and wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. to the starting offense and despite dealing with huge loss at defensive tackle (season-ending injury to Javon Hargrave ) a platoon of players on the defensive line jumped in to help stall the Patriots offense.

The San Francisco 49ers will have a shot at getting two of their biggest playmakers back in the lineup in time for the team's Week 5 matchup versus the Arizona Cardinals. All-Pros Fred Warner (ankle) and George Kittle (ribs) were sidelined for Wednesday and Thursday's practices with their respective injuries but were able to rejoin the team on a limited basis for the final workout of the week. The forward progress earned them both questionable injury designations headed into the weekend.

The San Francisco 49ers made the third trip to Lumen Field in as many seasons for a "Thursday Night Football" showdown versus the Seattle Seahawks. With their 36-24 victory over their division rivals to the north, San Francisco has gone from No. 3 in the NFC West standings to sharing part of the crown with Seattle, and the team extends their win streak over the Seahawks to six-straight games (including the playoffs).

The San Francisco 49ers are set to welcome back wide receiver Ricky Pearsall (chest) in Week 7 versus the Kansas City Chiefs. Pearsall, who was the victim of an armed robbery attempt at the end of August, started the year on the Non-Football Injury list after suffering a gunshot wound in the incident. He had his practice window opened Monday, and per head coach Kyle Shanahan, the official roster move will take place on Saturday.

The San Francisco 49ers will be without one of their top wide receiver options with Jauan Jennings ruled out on Friday, however, they will have their first rounder from the 2024 NFL Draft available for the first time this season. Wideout Ricky Pearsall, who started the year on the Non-Injury Reserve list, was activated to the 49ers 53-man roster on Saturday afternoon. Kicker

It was a rivalry renewed between the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys on "Sunday Night Football." The meeting marked the fourth clash between these two teams over the last four seasons (including the playoffs), all of which have gone in the 49ers favor. With this most recent 30-24 victory, San Francisco extends their lead in the all-time series to 21-19-1 and enters their Bye week on a high note.
