This week marks thirty-eight years since the groundbreaking film Who Framed Roger Rabbit introduced audiences to its title character and redefined what was possible in live-action and animation storytelling. Released in June 1988, the movie brought to life a vibrant alternate version of 1947 Los Angeles, where cartoon characters known as toons lived and worked alongside humans. The central figure, the frantic and lovable Roger Rabbit, quickly became a beloved icon whose debut captured imaginations worldwide through a clever mix of mystery, humor, and technical innovation.

The free streaming service Plex has expanded its ad-supported lineup by adding four new channels, giving viewers immediate access to more specialized entertainment without any subscription fees or sign-up barriers. This update brings dedicated programming focused on mystery drama, true crime investigations, international soccer, and classic science fiction directly to the platform. The additions enhance the already extensive collection of free live TV channels and on-demand content available across the Plex app on smart TVs, mobile devices, computers, and streaming sticks.

Apple announced significant price increases for its Apple TV streaming devices today, marking one of the largest adjustments in the product’s history. The entry-level Apple TV Wi-Fi model will rise from $129 to $199, while the higher-end Apple TV Wi-Fi + Ethernet variant jumps from $149 to $249. The changes take effect immediately for new purchases through Apple’s online store and authorized retailers worldwide. Though some 3rd party sellers have not updated their prices yet.

This week, the BBC has confirmed that Radio 4 broadcasts on long wave will conclude tomorrow, June 27, 2026, with the complete closure of the long wave platform following on June 30. This decision brings to a close nearly a century of service on a technology that once provided essential national coverage across the United Kingdom and beyond. No programs will disappear as a result. All Radio 4 content continues without interruption on FM, DAB digital radio, the BBC Sounds app and website, smart speakers, and television platforms such as Freeview and satellite services. FM alone reaches 99.5% of UK households and serves as the primary alternative for most remaining long-wave listeners.
