The ‘Santa Claus of Laurel Avenue’ in Oakdale – who orchestrates an expansive holiday decorating effort with many houses on the block – greeted visitors this past weekend, with a little help from elf friends who helped pass out candy canes to those stopping by to see the display. A train rolls through and different vignettes showcase Mickey and Minnie Mouse and friends, the Frozen crew, and many other favorites. Family members have helped paint the pieces, with new ones added each year.
It’s still well over a month away but sign-ups are being taken now for the Escalon Educational Foundation popular Color Run, set for Saturday, Feb. 8.
