Escalon earned their 16th win of the season and advanced to the NorCal semifinals.

Sober Grad coordinator Krysten Lial said they opened the grad night party up to all three high schools this year, though with small classes at Vista and Gateway, the majority of the 122 total attendees were from Escalon High School.

El Portal Principal Suzette Berhorst presented the Teacher Recognition awards and the Academic Excellence awards during the evening, while Assistant Principal Alexandria Reeves highlighted those students chosen for Exemplary Citizenship.

Heading to the bottom of the seventh, Escalon still held a 4-0 lead but Alisal did not go quietly.

There were a number of food trucks, beverage options, cool treats and some vendors as well, along with booths set up by sponsors for the music series, providing information about their businesses and services.

They captured the school’s first ever NorCal softball title, defeating host Alisal High School of Salinas on Saturday, June 6.

Still, I am grateful that the pace will be a little slower for a while, as it seems to take me longer now to bounce back after a busy week.

By the end of the tournament, which ran from June 2 through June 6, the 2026 varsity Lady Cougars had put themselves in the record books – as the first Escalon softball team to earn a NorCal title.

This year, Emma Rangel and Ben Ferreira were named as the Most Inspirational athletes while Madison Babasa and Logan Huebner were presented with the Most Outstanding senior athlete honors.
