ST. MARYS — City of St. Marys Director of Parks and Recreation Danielle Kugler opened a special meeting held Tuesday concerning the future of the St. Marys Community Pool by putting some rumors to rest. “We are not shutting the pool down. RIDGWAY — At the Elk County Commissioners meeting on Jan. 16, Director of Elections/Voter Registration Kim Frey announced that anyone interested in running for election to one of about 70 positions that will be available in 2025 should attend Elk County Candidates' Night, which will be held on Feb. 11 at 6 p.m. in conference room 2 of the courthouse annex.

On a blustery Sunday in mid-January, five of us set out for Clyde Peeling's Reptileland in Allenwood, Pennsylvania. We encountered some stretches of Interstate 80 that were snow-covered, but it seemed that the farther east we went, conditions started improving somewhat during the two-hour drive.
