Cougar senior Kaiya Lian and sophomore Kendra Dressler were second-team selections on the Virginia High School League Class 3 team, voted on by state coaches and released Monday afternoon.

Hayslett named to Class 3 all-state football team

BY MARK PIFER • STAFF WRITER Xzavier HayslettLOW MOOR — Alleghany senior Xzavier Hayslett is an all-stater. The Cougar wideout was named as a first-team wide receiver on the Virginia High School League Class 3 all-state team, released on Dec. 24. Hayslett joined I.C. Norcom’s Matthew Outten and Thomas Jefferson’s Amare Gough as receivers on the first team.
