It's hard to believe that one could have such a beautiful garden only blocks from the ocean, but Buck Rogers (first photo) spent his retirement years cultivating this garden in a plot between Ninth and Eighth street alongside his beautiful home. This photo was taken in July of 1992 after Buck had retired from his business, Buck's Sentry Market, and joined his wife, Nadya, in community activities ...and passionate activism.

The first two photos have to do with the U.S. Corps of Engineers dredge Sandwick, which was a familiar sight in the local harbor during the 1980s.
