Santa Claus (played by Jim Martin) was more than happy to hear what children wanted for Christmas this year at the Baytown Historical Preservation Association’s annual “Christmas Past and Present” event. The free event offered a taste of Christmas past as visitors told Santa their wishes in the barn at the Republic of Texas Plaza Park. They also visited the 1910 Brown-McKay Farmhouse to see an old-fashioned Christmas dinner and the historic 130-year-old Wooster Schoolhouse, the oldest known existing one-room school in Harris County and once the heart of the community.
