LeRoy Township Supervisors and residents are informed of a supposed theft and return of auditing documents from the township’s municipal building.

LEROY — At Monday’s LeRoy Township meeting, Secretary Ted Tomlinson reported that the auction of the township’s old work truck on Municibid had ended, with Frank Watson the high bidder for $30,100. The truck was initially purchased in 2015. After some discussion, supervisors voted to authorize Tomlinson to move forward with the truck sale.

The Oct. 7 LeRoy Township meeting started off with David DeCristo approaching the supervisors about the township turning over East Van Fleet Road to his private stewardship, a goal DeCristo said he’d been trying to accomplish for 10 years. DeCristo said he had worked out an arrangement with Jared Wilcox, who lives on East Van Fleet and would make use of a new bridge DeCristo plans to install.

The Canton Borough council decided to approve the names of five applicants to the role of mayor and send the list on to the Bradford County courthouse, where officials will appoint one to serve. The office has been vacant since the resignation of Dean Vanderpool earlier this year.
