FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - It’s apparently the week of fronts! Although it has been a cooler, but still pleasant and dry day, even cooler conditions will settle in just in time for the weekend. Before we get there, another cold front will sweep through the region and bring - is it any surprise? - rain, thunder, and wind with it.
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Last week we got lucky with not just one, but TWO 80º days! I say “lucky” because having one day in the 80s in April is a bonus enough, whereas two, while not unprecedented, is quite unusual. It should not come as any surprise, then, that we’re reverting back to more typical zany late April weather: rain, wind, and cooler temperatures. They say these April showers will bring forth May flowers, but given how soggy the month has already been those flowers better be poppin’!
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Steady rain will continue through the early evening before becoming scattered through midnight. Fortunately, our cool and stable atmosphere has prevented any thunderstorms from forming. Tonight will be mostly cloudy with lows around 40º.
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Frosty weather returns to the area with low temperatures dropping into the low 30s. It is possible these conditions could damage or kill sensitive plants, so be sure to keep them covered or bring them inside if possible!

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Isolated showers and thunderstorms will continue to form along a warm front draped across much of Northern Indiana this evening. While severe weather is not expected, some storms could contain briefly gusty wind and small hail. Otherwise, plan on widely scattered quick-hitting downpours with warm low temperatures staying in the 60s.
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Showers associated with an incoming cold front will continue, off and on, through the overnight hours. The good news about this front is that it is fairly week and moisture-starved, at least compared to fronts of late. This means rainfall totals across the region will average out to 0.10″-0.25″, with anything over a quarter of an inch the exception versus the rule.
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A few rogue showers are meandering across Northern Indiana this evening, but otherwise it is expected to be a dry and calm night. In fact, it is because of the calm conditions and recent rain that we could see a bit of fog form overnight into early Saturday morning.
