FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - That mid-autumn sunshine sure felt nice this afternoon, but even just a moment in the shade likely reminded you of which season we’re in! These clear skies will translate to a colder night than the past several, dipping back down into the 30s. As dry as it has been, we’ve received enough moisture to at least warrant the mention of a bit of patchy fog overnight into Friday morning, though visibilities are not expected to be significantly impacted everywhere! Just use extra caution if you run into the more dense pockets which are more likely on rural roads.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - I suppose “mixed bag” in early November is preferable to “significant storm” or “flooding rain”! We know how things can be in this part of the country, especially this time of year!

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Today was a crystal clear, but chilly November day with highs struggling to make it to 50º! The average high temperature for November 12th is 51º, so as cool as it felt this is pretty average. Lows tonight will also fall to close-to-average levels, bottoming out in the low 30s.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Off and on rain showers are expected this evening into Tuesday morning, with perhaps a quarter of an inch or so of rain as a result. If we’re really lucky (and we’re being optimistic here given recent trends!) we might even see a partly sunny afternoon, though it will be breezy at times with wind gusts up to 25 mph.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Outside of some narrow and spotty lake-effect rain showers this morning and afternoon, Friday has been another classically breezy, cloudy November day. In fact, temperatures this afternoon were more than 10 degrees warmer than Thursday afternoon!

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - It never ceases to amaze me that our local climate can go from 60º at the start of the week to a wind chill in the low to mid teens by the end of the week. Turns out, that’s exactly what will happen!

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A First Alert Weather Day is now in place through Thursday evening due to the most impactful winter weather-related system we’ve seen so far this season. We first gave you the alert that Thursday’s subzero wind chills were going to be a dangerous factor at the start of the week, but the lake effect snow threat was (and continues to be!) far less straightforward.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The day started with a little light, wet snow, but as expected it was all for show :) Otherwise, it was another gloomy day and Thursday promises much of the same: overcast skies with highs in the mid 30s.
