FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - There are usually just two weather camps this time of year: it’s too hot, or it’s not hot enough. Fortunately for the first camp, and sadly for the second, things are about to turn around :)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A cluster of thunderstorms moving south out of the Upper Midwest have so far caused more problems to the west of us with a handful of high wind and damage reports. Across Northern Indiana and Northwest Ohio, just some rain and lightning has been the extent of the activity.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The rest of the week, which will take us to the last day of July (Friday), looks about as seasonable as it gets! Highs will be in the low to mid 80s with sunshine every day. A pop up shower is possible late Friday, though those chances are currently low at around 20%.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Thanks to high pressure to our north, we’ll be enjoying more warm and dry weather through at least late Friday. Highs over the next couple of days will be in the mid 80s.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Summer and winter are our two seasons were carbon-copy days, often back-to-back, occur frequently. Exhibit A: Today and Friday. Both days will be nearly identical from a weather standpoint - mainly sunny and warm with reasonable levels of humidity.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A large area of low pressure to our west is to blame for the increased cloud cover today, and it will be to blame for a weekend of periodic heavy rain and thunderstorm chances as well!

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - After a cloudy and rainy (at times) weekend, much of this week will be as comfortable as it gets for early August! Highs will be in the low 80s Tuesday, and possibly mid 80s Wednesday with sunshine both days.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Our combination of dry and warm days will be coming to an end Wednesday as humidity will increase once again. Highs will reach the mid 80s with dew points near 70º, making it feel slightly warmer than it will be.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A slow-moving front will bring renewed shower and occasional thunderstorm chances to the area through Friday.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Rounds of rain and thunder have made planning around today a bit on the tricky side. I wish I could say Friday and the weekend will be much better, but I expect more of the same.
