After beating Lakeside, 11-2 on June 7, the Marlins blanked the Folsom National Braves, 15-0, on Thursday night to win the tournament. The win brought the Marlins' record to 10-5-1 on the season.

Norris umpired for more than 30 years at various locations in and around the Sacramento area, including Roseville. Upon his death last September, some softball players, including Richard Peeters of West Roseville, felt something should be done for Norris.

Those losses seemed to motivate Hangtown, as they jumped out to a 5-1 win over the second inning and went on to beat Folsom National win the championship, 9-6.

Standing in their way are the Cosumnes Phillies, who the Blue Jays will play Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Feist Park in Granite Bay.

The twins graduated May 29 and eight days later closed out their athletic careers at Roseville by helping the varsity baseball team win the Northern California Division 3 baseball championship with a 4-2 win over Menlo School.

The Folsom American Minor Blue Jays and the El Dorado Hills Major Mets won District 54 TOC championships. At Feist Park in Granite Bay, the Blue Jays defeated the Cosumnes Phillies, 3-2, while the Mets defeated the Woodcreek Giants, 8-0, at Mahany Park in Roseville.

That makes them the favorite to win the District 54 championship Friday when they face either Hangtown, Lakeside or Ponderosa at Ponderosa Little League in Cameron Park. Roseville has already beaten Lakeside 10-0 on June 19 and Ponderosa 18-0 on Tuesday night.

The kids keep coming back to this camp every year. Some of the kids return year after year, but a majority of those who attend the camp are fresh-faced kids going into second through sixth grade.

Woodcreek won all three games they played in the tournament; opening with an 18-1 win over Hangtown before beating Folsom National in the semifinals on Monday, 10-0. Thursday's 5-3 win over Ponderosa was by far Woodcreek's closest game.

The Bulldogs won them both, beating Chico, 63-39 and then Colfax, 56-46. The game against Colfax was a good one. Folsom led by only four points but pulled away late to win by 10.
