Live West Haven family found shot to death in car (KUTV) SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — A woman and three young children in West Haven, Utah were found dead in their vehicle with gunshot wounds, authorities said. Responding authorities found the bodies of a 32-year-old woman and her three children – a 4-year-old boy, a 2-year-old girl, and a 1-year-old girl. The Weber County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) confirmed that all four victims had been shot. Shelby County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) Sgt. Sean Endsley said that, while the gunshot trauma was apparent, "the cause and manner of these deaths are still under investigation." As the investigation was in its preliminary stages, Endsley said he couldn't provide information on whether authorities were looking for a shooter or if the person who pulled the trigger was already identified. The names of the woman and children were not publicly released as of Wednesday morning. WCSO did not specify if the vehicle was parked on the street, in a driveway, or in a garage. He wouldn't confirm whether the home where the crime scene had been cordoned off was the home where the woman lived. He also couldn't confirm if the 911 caller heard gunshots and investigated, or if the woman and three children had been discovered a length of time after the shooting. In addition to WCSO, the Weber-Metro CSI and the Weber-Morgan Homicide Task Force were investigating, which is the protocol for situations like these, Endsley said. "Currently, there are no facts to support any related or ongoing threat to public safety," Endsley later said in a statement released on the WCSO's social media. WCSO STATEMENT ON WEST HAVEN SHOOTING At approximately 9:47 p.m. on September 03, 2024, Weber Area Dispatch received a 911 call from a family member reporting they found four people deceased in a vehicle at a residence in the area of 1800 S Prevedel Drive, West Haven. When deputies arrived on scene, they located and confirmed that four people were deceased and obviously beyond help. Investigators from the Weber Country Sheriff's Office, Weber/Morgan Homicide Task Force, and Weber-Metro CSI, along with other resources, have begun the investigation into these deaths. The deceased have been identified as an adult female and three children. There is evidence of gunshot trauma, but the cause and manner of these deaths is still under investigation. Our hearts go out to the families of the deceased. We are proud of and thankful for the deputies who responded to this call, and all the investigators working to find answers to the many questions that remain.
