There was a meeting at the Bessemer City Schools Central Office on Thursday. ABC 33/40 was told the meeting was a District Policy Committee meeting, and a sign-in sheet for the meeting called it a Bessemer Board of Education Policy

Birmingham Water Works customers could soon see another rate increase. The board will vote on November 20th on the 4.9% increase. A town hall was hosted at the Birmingham Crossplex with BWW and County Commissioner Sheila Tyson. Former board member William Muhammad was disappointed at the lack of BWW board members present.

Pell City Schools Board of Education met for the first time in a regular board meeting since two kill lists at Williams Intermediate were discovered. The incident was not on the agenda or brought up during the meeting, but Superintendent Dr. James Martin did speak afterwards with ABC 33/40 on where the school system is in the ongoing investigation.

Stone Canyon Homes employees in Marion County have still not been paid. Many employees say they are owed for three weeks of work.

Stone Canyon Homes paid a $25,000 settlement with former employee Tom Frey. Frey was a former owner of 413 Cabins LLC dba Stone Canyon Homes, sold his portion and stayed on as Sales Director.
