One man is dead after a four vehicle crash near Attala in Etowah County. ALEA said 45-year-old Derrick McCormick was killed when his truck left the road and hit a sign. The road sign then hit another car. Mccormick's truck overturned and an air compressor from the truck hit a third a car. The truck would then enter the opposite lanes and hit a tractor trailer. McCormick was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is now investigating after a toddler died in a crash when the child was strapped into a car seat.

Hoover City Schools tabled their vote on classroom additions to Bluff Park Elementary School on Tuesday night. The deadline for the board to accept the bid on the project is now extended until after the New Year. The school board received a bid for $6.3 million. The addition would include 10 additional classrooms.

Alabama Aerospace and Aviation High School is a charter school in Bessemer. The school opened in 2022. Now, the school hopes to open a second campus in the Magic City.

Saturday night a Blountsville home suffered major damage from a fire caused by a space heater. Crews responded to the home to find heavy smoke and flames. Firefighters were able to stop the fire from spreading to the garage and two bedrooms. Blountsville Fire and Rescue were able to get the fire under control is less than an hour from being on scene.

The Bessemer Board of Education met for their monthly board meeting Tuesday night. One item on the agenda was to approve the Flex Program.
