Hallie Sweet is a seventh generation potato farmer with Sweet Farms Inc. located on the Smallman road, just outside O’Leary. A fisherman who went overboard in the West Point area Saturday morning was saved by the quick actions of his fellow crew members.

Mark Pridham, farm manager for Elite Seed Farm, and Rebecca MacSwain, seed specialist with the PEI Potato Board and oversees the operations at Elite Seed Farm, stand in front of the maintenance shop, where some of the farm’s new solar panels have been installed. Hector Pitre has lived his whole life in Tignish Shore and this summer he’s become a fixture at the Fisherman’s Haven Park.
