LARNED — A Larned State Hospital inmate with a history of escape from custody pleaded guilty Monday morning to walking away from the facility in June 2023.

LARNED – The ballots had all been counted and the results posted on the white board in the Pawnee County Courthouse first-floor lobby; all but the one that most had been waiting for. At 9:55 p.m. Tuesday, the final race was posted and, come January when newly-elected officials take office, the county’s residents will see something that hasn’t occurred since 2009.

The Larned City Council on Monday recognized Ralf Streit, who had been honored with a Dedicated Commitment to Service Award by the Kansas Municipal Energy Agency at a conference in October. Streit, who serves as city electric distribution superintendent, has been employed by the City of Larned for 32 years.
