Die Sanierung und Integralisierung der Steinbachbrücke im Schnellstraßennetz zwischen Wien und Graz ist Österreichs erstes Projekt in UHFB-Aufbeton-Bauweise. Als Besonderheit wurde auf eine Brückenabdichtung verzichtet und die 7 cm dicke, statisch wirksame UHFB-Sanierungsschicht gleichzeitig als Fahrbahnbelag verwendet. Erfahrungen aus diesem Pilotprojekt sind in die Richtlinie UHFB der Österreichischen Bautechnik-Vereinigung eingeflossen; sowohl hinsichtlich der Herstellung als auch hinsichtlich der Bemessung. In diesem Beitrag werden die entsprechenden Schlüsselthemen wie Verbundfestigkeit zwischen UHFB und Bestandbeton, sowohl statisch als auch ermüdungstechnisch, Rissbreiten, Arbeitsfugen und Griffigkeit näher beleuchtet. Die Wirkungsweise und Leistungsfähigkeit werden anhand von experimentellen Untersuchungen dargelegt. Daraus abgeleitete Bemessungsregeln werden am Beispiel des Projekts Steinbachbrücke präsentiert. Ein Blick auf den Zustand der Steinbachbrücke nach mehr als zehn Jahren intensiver Nutzung vervollständigt das Bild dieser noch jungen, aber bereits gut entwickelten und durch die Richtlinie klar geregelten Bauweise.
