Like many small Southern communities, this slice of Small Town America is having financial issues. Most conservative states are seeing similar stories. When state governments start reducing taxes on the rich, the only thing that trickles down is loss of essential services. Local municipalities have to find alternate golden eggs or poor people see their taxes trickle up.
