It’s the second local spot for Benny’s, which is known for its giant slices, and adds to its location in the Fan that opened in 2019 and remains in business as usual.

“The goal is to bring an outdoor amenity to the space for dining and relaxing,” said co-owner Jay Bayer. “And help continue to beautify a revitalizing district and bring some outdoor fun to the neighborhood.”

The new owners previously ran Lola’s Farmhouse Bistro in Goochland and bought Palani Drive’s lease, equipment and business assets last month from founder Jeff Weatherly.

“We think it’s funny. But we’re excited to be back in a great area,” Asado owner Ian Anderson said of its return to its original space at 727 W. Broad St.

Two New York firms recently traded the shopping center in Henrico County.

After a few years focusing on selling frozen pies from other shops, Billy Fallen is warming up for his brick-and-mortar return in the West End.

It's the chain's first location in the Richmond area and sixth overall. The other five are in Virginia Beach, Norfolk and Chesapeake, where it has become a staple known for its sandwiches, salads and wraps.
