Former President Donald Trump enthusiastically is endorsing Rick Scott for re-election, but the Naples Republican isn’t saying when or if Trump will back him openly in his battle to lead the Senate.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) delivered the following remarks today on the Senate floor regarding the Tobacco-Free Youth Act:

"I am prepared to get rid of the filibuster to pass a Green New Deal."

They should come to their senses and stop interfering with how Congress wants cases assigned in district courts.

After 16-year reign as Senate GOP leader, McConnell set to hand leadership to someone else.

Conservative media pundit Tucker Carlson is warning of a potential “coup” against President-elect Donald Trump as three senators eye to replace longtime Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY). Carlson is urging Trump supporters to call their senators and demand they support Rick Scott (R-FL). On Tuesday, Republicans secured the Senate— leaving the door open for for someone to replace McConnell. Republican John Coryn (TX), John Thune (SD), and Scott are seeking to take McConnell’s seat. However, Carlson has an issue with two of the men.

Last Tuesday, America sent a resounding message to Washington when they elected Donald Trump and gave Republicans majorities in the Senate and likely the House. D.C. Republicans now have one job: Don’t screw it up. For Senate Republicans, this means closing the book on the Mitch McConnell era of governance marked by heavily centralized management and open hostility to the Trump agenda and the Republican base. On Nov. 13, they will elect a new leader for the first time in nearly 18 years and have a chance to usher in a new leadership that is accountable to the conference and the priorities of the evolving base of the Republican Party.
