The nursing union says Health New Zealand has frozen the hiring of graduate nurses into the hospital system despite the country continuing to grapple with a "nursing crisis".

Health NZ has denied there is a hiring freeze on recruiting graduate nurses after the nursing union called the agency out for going back on their agreement.

It's another requirement in the Coalition Government's crackdown on beneficiaries.

However, not all of the treatments will be available as soon as cancer patients hoped.

The Coalition Government is not seeing eye to eye with its continuation of Labour's COVID-19 Royal Commission Inquiry.

A petition with almost 60,000 signatures was presented outside of Parliament.
