American officials are acknowledging that the U.S. won't be able to spend all of the money authorized to transfer arms to Kyiv by Jan. 20.

Last week, Debra Tice was in Washington—along with 16 other family members—to advocate for the release of her son. During a press conference then, she said the family has learned “from a significant source that has already been vetted all over our government: Austin Tice is alive.”

Shamsud-Din Jabbar, the suspect who drove into a large crowd in New Orleans early on New Year’s Day, served in the U.S. Army for 10 years, including a 2009 deployment to Afghanistan, rising to the rank of staff sergeant, a U.S. official said. Hegseth said the media feels threatened by him because he is a “change agent.”
