As of June 15, there were 12 total confirmed animal cases of New World screwworm in the United States — 11 in Texas and one in New Mexico. This includes cases in parts of Coke, Edwards, Gillespie, Kerr, Kimble, La Salle, Schleicher, Sutton, Tom Green, Uvalde, Val Verde, Webb, and Zavala counties in Texas, where quarantine zones have been established. these involve cattle, goats, and one dog, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS).
