Milton's storm surge is expected to surpass that of Hurricane Helene a little over a week ago. While South Florida is not expected to get a direct hit, we are still in the danger zone for flooding.

Hurricane Milton is forecast to make landfall in Florida late Wednesday. In the latest update from the National Hurricane Center, Milton was classified as a Category 4 storm, with maximum winds of 155 miles per hour.

With the impending threat of Milton to strike the Sunshine State as a dangerous hurricane within the next day or so, airport operations are shifting through the state.
